Broken interior door handle on hhr requires new panel

Chevrolet needs to adress the problem of broken interior door handles on its HHR model. When the parts counter knows that you need to order the whole door panel to replace a broken interior door handle, its not the first time they have encountered this with a customer. I have less than 60,000 miles on my 2007 HHR and I do not consider the door handle a routine maintenence problem on a $20,000 automobile. This is a safety issue that needs to be recalled, before someone dies because they are not able to exit the vehicle in an emergency situation.

This is totally ***. My door handle broke in my 2007 HHR.

I just called for a price quote at a local Chevy dealer.

He told me that the whole panel needs to be replaced and that it was $299.01. What kinda of *** is this?

Chevy, you really need to get your act together or else you are going to see a lot of people buying Ford's....pissed off

#289529

When this plastic handle first cracked on my 2007 HHR I thought "No problem, it's just an inexpensive plastic piece." Now I learn I have to replace the entire mechanism at prices quoted ranging from $331 to over $400 just for the part. My first purchase of an American branded car in over 20 years, and this is the level of quality and customer care I get.

Contact w/chevy

Have you ever tried to contact Chevrolet division about anything but buying a car. Well you can forget it. They have thier PR contacts so well hidden you have no choice but to go to a dealer but they cannot get a PR problem solved. So you are SOL. They keep sending mail to my wife in her former name and refuse the dealers request to correct the problem. Yeah, it is a problem as her now deceased husband was grabbed up by the devil and taken straight to ***. We have been married 20 years and bought two cars in her name.

2000 Chevrolet Silverado-Big Mistake

After owning my 2000 Chevy Silverado since it was new' this truck has had more problems than any other vehicle I have owned-and I have been driving for 40 years. Brake rotors from China, window motors going out multiple times (both sides), problems with the heater, windshield washer reservoir leaks (had it repaired under warranty and it started again when the warranty ran out), pieces falling off the body, front hub went out, 4wd shifter fell off, not to mention severe rust. I cannot even remember all the sensors that have failed. The truck is garage kept and only has 82K miles. Many of the problems are due to faulty engineering and using cheap parts from China. This was not a cheap vehicle at $32,000 in 2000. After this mess, I keep the truck parked as much as I can and rely on my Japanese engineered vehicles. Even with the low miles, I am afraid to take the Chevy on a trip. There is not enough room to list all the problems I have had with this truck. It's nothing to see German and Japanese engineered vehicles go 200K trouble free miles. I just wish I could have gotten 100K trouble free miles. If GM ever wants to get back in the ball game, they will have to put their money where their mouth is and offer a 100K bumper to bumper warranty like Hyundai did! I hate the idea that my tax money was used to bail out this POS company!

I won't go back , ever!

Bought a car, later it had a recall on it, I set up an appointment brought it in and they used the parts on other cars, what was the point to a appointment???

Then they wanted to check other things in the car and wanted me to come back when they had the recall parts come in, I guess my time was of no big deal to them, when I left MAD, I got a call from sales the day after, I asked why are you calling me, someone had given them my number and said I may be interested in buying a car...

what a bunch of bull.... will never ever go back!

Tire Ware And Shimmy

In 1997 I bought a new Chevy Silverado. My son worked at the Tukwilla store at that time. My son had a TUFF 3" lift kit installed. John was the manager at the time. My truck has only 71,000 miles today. I need a new set of tires now, but this will be the 4th set of front tires. The problem is tread wear, and shimmy at about 43 mph. I've had my truck checked(balance,alignment,4 way alignment) two times at the Tulwilla store, twice at the Covington store, and twice at Maple Valley store. The Covington store reversed a steering arm thinking this would help. No luck. The front tires always wears with waves in the tread, and they wear out really fast. When I back up the front plows or makes deep ruts while turning left only. There has to be someone who can fix my problem once and forever. I can't keep buying new tires every 20,000. Help

you may want to check out your worn *** front end then. not only have you lifted it, and i bet the *** that did the lift didnt loosen your trackbar and torque it after the lift, but that prob killed the bushings, and all the extra wear and angle on the other front end components are making your problem, prob your balljoints, ccontrol arms, and alaignment is off

I have noticed in your complain board that there are a few HHR's with the same problem and I would like to know what Chevy is going to do about this problem. It is annoying when I have to roll my window down to open my door. I cannot afford a new handle and someone to put it in I need to know what r u the Manufacturer do about this on going problem I tread the board there are several people that have this same complaint on your doors. I feel Chevy is Liable to fix these handles if there was a problem like ur car on fire you can't get out. would you like your loved on to drive a car like that I think not! Sincerely Ms Sabine Foxx

Worst car ever :(never buy a chevrolet again is a nightmare

December 2010;I was driving my chevrolet aveo 2005 when it just started reducing its speed. It didn't even show any symptons.IT was all just suddenly,it was just fine the day before. So i took it to the dealer and they said that the timing belt had broke with just 30.000 of mileage when i was supposed to take for a management at 60,000 miles. the dealer said that the cost was going to be 2,500$. so right now i have no car and im still making the payments for this junk. ITS A TOTAL NIGHTMARE=( IM TOTALLY A PISSED CONSUMER GRRRRRRRRR

Not surprised. GM covered themselves by stating that at 30,000 miles the T-belt for the Aveo is to be checked and at 60,000 miles, changed. They had a temporary secret warranty for the T-belt on this car, but of course it has expired.

Trade in policy

I have a 2005 silverado I went to a couple of dealers to trade it in and get a new one, the problem became I was only allowed 3500 to 4000 dollars for mine, but they had ones setting on the lot exactly the same thing same color miles etc, for 8900-1**** I prefer Chevrolet and have 3 setting in my garage and a 36 foot camper with chevrolet chasis. It seems as though ford and Dodge are offering better deals with the bottom line being 9000 difference where Chevrolet is 14000 difference. I beleive that someone needs to have a chat with the dealers and tell them not to be so greedy. Randy White 1652 N. Co. Rd. 900 Hamilton Ill. 62341 phone 309 221 ****

Chev now disposible car

For those of you who used to buy chev because they wanted a decent domestic car, Forget it! GM now makes disposible cars. I currently have a Chev with only 83,000 km with the dash cluster gone along with the paint flaking off the button and a wheel bearing jammed on so that instead of replacing a wheel bearing, you need to replace the bearing, axel and spindle. It has been very well maintained but yet these problems exist. GM representatives tell me that its "an old car. It is a 2004." It would seem their logic is, even though it has very low mileage and has been well maintained, it doesn't matter. I have had chevs last well over 500,000 km. Guess they weren't making enough off of consumers that way. Now they make their cars to last 100,000 km or less so you will have to buy a new one sooner giving little consideration to the economic state of both US and Canada these days. The average person cannot afford to buy a new car every 100,000 km. To prove their greed, they can't even give me an estimate on the amount it will cost to replace the dash cluster without paying a GM dealership to do a diagnostic and possibly tear the dash apart to find out what kind of cluster it is. Imagine! What happened to looking in a computer to find out what clusters were put in what cars? I would suggest thinking long and hard before buying a GM product. They might look nice when they new but look out when they get to 75,000 km. Chevs logan "Like a Rock" only applies if you consider a rock falls to the bottom first.

Very mad at this dealership for lying to my husand and I for a month about our new car purchase. They said we had a loan when infact we don't.

We got the denial letter and they won't even tell the truth or give us back our trade. If Marshall and Paul are going to up front liars to our face I feel we should get a free car out the deal, and our "we owe" honored.oh, and let me mention that Scott Collins called us at 9:30pm in the beginning and told us our loan wasn't approved. Hello truth, so Marshall and Paul tap danced and said "I don't why he called you let me look into this" they come back to us and said they loan approval through Ally at 3.9%. Marie calls us in to sign papers on Nov 9 for Compass at 6.9%.

She tells us we weren't approved through Ally goes and talks to Marshall comes back and suddenly we still have the Ally loan. SUSPICIOUS. Ally never funds to this day. I call Ally they have no record of us or the VIN# of the Sonic.

SUSPICIOUS. The same day, today, we get a letter in the mail from Ally saying they cannon honor the purposed deal from Sands Motor Company. We go back to get our trade and they won't let us have it teying to assure us everything is fine. And Marshall wants to guide mw through the survey so the dealrship so they get a 100% satisfied.

ONE I'm not a ***, TWO this does not warrent a satisfied survey and THREE its illegal to guide me through a survey so they get what they want. Let us talk to Jerry Moore or we're going to the attorney general.

Charged 643.27 for a car repair that did not work.

on April 6,2010, took my Impala to Gordon Chevrolet, in Garden city, Michigan, because security light would come on sometimes, and the car would take 25-30 minutes to start. Gordon, changed the body control module and charged $643.27. Several days later I started having the same problem.Took the car back and was told they could find no problem with it. Several days later started having the same problem again. Took the car back and they found the problem and I was charged an additional $420.96.Gordon Chevrolet refused to refund the money for the repair that did not work.

Chevy dealer warped my brakes.

I own a 08 cobalt sport with a little over 34000 miles and original set of tires still mounted, this car is drive only 4 days a week to work. Recently I took it in for a trans axle seal replacement and transmission cooler line replacement. Covered under warranty and both issues they found. After every repair they test drive, so this happened and picked my car. Immidiatly at the first red light I felt a wobble, hop, shudder in the steering wheel! I called them, they told me ,"You must have hit the brakes pretty hard while you were going down hill". Remember my mileage and original set of tires, hmmm. They didnt accept responsibility and told me warped rotors are not covered under warranty. Now they keep calling about the service survey, they want to give a full tank of gas and a oil change if I hand over the survey. This is in Farmington NM.

This letter is regarding Fuccillo chevrolet auto repair.

After my girlfriend bought a Pontiac Torrent there nearly 2 years ago, we have been extremely disappointed with the TERRIBLE repair service they do not offer. For starters, just try and call the auto division for an appointment- THERE IS NO NUMBER PROVIDED, and to make matters worse when you do call another part of the dealership to connect you to the repair shop, they intentionally leave you on hold. But then again all of this repair non-sense could have been avoided if they would have sold the car in a serviceable condition. For starters the washer fluid wouldn't dispense fluid(mind you this was in the winter-time, salt and all). She was gullible enough to believe the salesman that the fluid was just frozen". Reall? Even with antifreeze in it? Even when it's warm out? Come on! On top of that there was NO front license plate holder. She was told to come back later for that to be mounted! Very inconvenient. Would NEVER, EVER recommend Fuccillo to ANYONE!!!
