Chevrolet - Warranty Review from Fort Worth, Texas

My wife purchased 2011 Chevy HHR 2LT. There was nothing but numerous problems with that vehicle: a rotten egg smell in the interior lingered- was at the dealership many of times for it, always came out with "no problem found". Finally, after 8th visit the catalytic converter was replaced...why so many aggregations? Noise coming from the engine upon cold start up- still not fixed, after many complaints! Ignition key getting stuck in the start position, thus not disengage the starter...still going on, even after G.M big recall and many complaints.... A part consistently failing, while under the warranty, 5 replacements later(a LEMON !), G.M. is saying that it's on me to pay for another replacement, because they replaced it 5 times! But it is still under their 12 months/12,000mi warranty! They don't care, was told- "time to spend of pocket money on it". And we have, bought their extended warranty as well ! Truly, acting like government, GOVERNMENT MOTORS that is! Customer service using phony excuses not to fix an obvious PRODUCTION DEFECT PROBLEM and playing phone games....Shame on you GM! I wonder if Mary Barra is kept in the dark or what? Is she even reading the customer's concerns, does she even care? We'd NEVER buy another GM product and will discourage every one from buying as well.

COLORADO DIESEL DOES NOT EXIST!

Chevy has been hyping availability of the the 2.8 Duramax in the Colorado for 2016. The 2.8 DURAMAX has not even been verified by the EPA and can not even be built yet, let alone delivered to dealer inventory. This vehicle doesn't even exist, yet Chevy are advertising...

The diesel version is actually available in the European market, but still does not meet EPA in the USA, like most European diesel engines

2010 Gmc Terrain Review

I have a GMC Terrain that i purchased in April of this year. Two weeks after i got it i had to take it back because there was no oil in it. It is now November and I'm still having the same problem after taking it back to the dealer 4 times. The first time the mechanic said they rebuilt the engine. But when i took it back 2 weeks later the story changed. I will Never buy another GMC again.

Rusted Cross Member Chevy Tracker

Tried to get GM (Chevy) to take care of rusted cross member. Was told that I am a few years late and that it is on me. This would be close to $1000. Other consumers have complained in regard to the rusting. And Chevy is aware of this issue. Chevrolet issued a bulletin that alerts owners of 1999-**** model year Chevrolet Trackers of the possibility that some of the front suspension crossmember did not receive adequate corrosion protection. If this occurs, may notice steering looseness, vehicle pulls to one side, front end noises (clunk, bang, rattle, etc) vehicle shaking, or steering wheel rotation when shifting from reverse to drive and drive to reverse. Corrosion may progress over time until the front lower control arm bracket separates from the crossmember.. If this condition occurs on your 1999-**** Chevrolet Tracker within 10 years of the date that the vehicle was originally placed in service, or 150,000 miles, whichever occurs first, the condition will be repaired at no charge. This should have been a full recall, not a silent one. Shame on you GM or Chevy whatever your name is. I don't give a hoot how old it is, this needs to be corrected. My children will sue GM or Chevy, whatever your name is. If I die in twisted wreckage, thanks for nothing.

2009 Chevrolet Impala: Failed transmission at 80k miles

Right after the purchase in 2010, the car had a minor brief vibration which correlated with the converter locking up. The dealer was unable to pinpoint the issue. In early 2015, the vibration became more noticeable. Took it to the dealer, and the service manager noticed the vibration. The transmission tech was unable to reproduce it, but decided to pull the pan: it was full of metal. The transmission was replaced. Cost $3700. As a former master mechanic, I know that a transmission should easily last the life of a car. The trans clearly had a defect, and was slowly disintegrating. I spoke with customer service, who had nothing to offer. After owning 7 Chevrolets in a row, I will never again purchase another.

My DANGEROUS 2010 Chevy Aveo LT

My 2010 Chevy Aveo has been having a total loss of power issue. I took it to the dealer twice and both times they said they couldn't replicate the issue. It still has it's powertrain warranty and its only at 68k miles. Today I was nearly hit by a tractor trailer because I couldn't get out of the way fast enough. I was a good distance to safely cross but in the amount of time it took to return power, he nearly t-boned me. DANGEROUS! I'm glad I didn't have my 5 mo son with me. I feel totally alone with the company. I did my part by buying a car from a corp like Chevy and now that they have my money, i'm swamped. The only thing I wanted this car for was low gas mileage and safety since our first born 5 mo old child is with me at times. I wish I never bought a Chevy and I nor anyone in my immediate family, will ever buy one again. I know I'm just a number in comparison to the millions of satisfied customers but I still count.

The only bad choice I ever made was buying a Toyota when I still worked for them as a technician. Why? Because now I think they're the greatest car in the world.

Dealerships are never able to duplicate the problems. But they are very good at advising you to get gasoline treatments, throttle body cleaning, fuel injector cleaning, and all other sources of system treatments that cost hundreds of dollars and at the end the problem is still there. They are sales driven they don't care about the vehicle they just care about getting as much money as possible from you.

@Alaric Poe

Yeah. I ended up picking up a new oem throttle body off of Amazon and changed it on my lunch break in the parking lot.

I have never been so disappointed before. I'll never buy another GM again.

Horrible service at the dealerships and know response from the customer service team. Totally pissed.

Never buy a brand new Camaro or Impala. You will be angry. Don't listen to the salesman.

I am in my second vehicle from this dealership. First I purchased, new from the showroom, an SS Camaro convertible. I traded in my car, a 2006 Saturn Ion to purchase the Camaro. I was ignorant in regards to sport cars. The very friendly salesman told me that the Camaro would be great as an only car for a single woman. Not true. It seems that it was common knowledge that Camaros are horrible in the snow. Well, I didn't know that, but I soon learned. I also learned that the high performance breaks squeal horribly and that it's supposedly a characteristic of the car, so the manufacturers warranty along with the extended warranty I purchased would not replace the breaks. Also, because of the soft convertible top, rain would drip into the car when ever the windows were down. Rain would drip excessively from the spot where the window was supposed to meet the top. I purchased the car in 3/2012 and traded it in, in 8/2013 after about 10 futile visits to service. The gas required for a V8 engine was also very expensive making that car almost the WORST only car for a single woman. So, I traded it in for a practical, seemingly impressive 2014 Impala. Today, after many visits regarding the Impala, I am regretting the day I purchased my first and second Chevy. My Impala has mold spores in my trunk. Also, my rims are bent which makes my car shake. I paid $270 to have my rims repaired and my ride is still not as smooth as it should be. I made an appointment at the body shop to get an estimate so that I could just get new rims through my insurance due to pot-holes in the roads because of the heavy snowfall this winter. The body shop at Chevy told me to go back to the service department because I paid to have my rims fixed, so they should be fixed until I am satisfied. Well, after going to the dealer 3 times about the rims, I was not going to sit another hour at the dealer that day. The worst of all occurred today. I asked my mother to *** of work so that I could drop my car off to get my the mold cleaned out of my trunk, leak fixed, oil changed, third safety recall addressed, and my rims looked at (again). I made the appointment last Friday, but when I called in yesterday, there was no record, so I made the appointment again yesterday. I have to be at work at 7:20 am so I dropped my keys in the lock box at 7:00. I called service at 11:00 am to check the status of my car and I was informed that I didn't have an appointment for today. So between 7:30 and 11:00 my car was sitting untouched. Well, they made space for me (even though I had an appointment). Since mold is present in my trunk and my car smells of mold, they agreed to give me a rental car from their rental car office, Affordable Rental Cars, until the leak specialist comes this coming Monday. After asking a co-worker of mine to drive me 20 minutes to the dealership to pick up the rental car, I realized I had forgotten my license and therefore could not get a rental car. The rental car office closed at 5:00; it was 4:30. The shuttle driver was busy, so I was out of luck. None of the many workers in blue shirts who seemed to be doing nothing involving customers or cars, could take me to my house to obtain my license. Though the employees at Porter are always affable and polite, I always leave dissatisfied. I was basically told come back again tomorrow. I have spend half of my life either in route to the dealership or waiting for my car to be serviced ever since I purchased a car from Porter. The worst part of it all is I got into my car after having my mother *** of work to drop me off at dealer and then take me to work by 7:20, a co-worker go out of his way to drive me back to the dealership at 4:00 pm after working all day, just to get into my car (which was just sitting there with the windows down and key on counsel), and absolutely NOTHING had been done. No oil change, no cleaning of the mold, mildew, or moisture in my trunk, no one looked at my rims, and the safety recall unaddressed. As soon as I sat in my car, I got an immediate headache. I've been getting atypical nosebleeds and headaches for the past two months which must be a direct result of the life growing in my trunk and the smell that permeates my vehicle.
