Serious Issues with 2018 Chevy Truck

I have taken my 2018 Chevy Silverado Redline into the shop to have both paint issues &;;;;;;;;;;;; mechanical issues(transmission) looked at and was told the paint issues are rock chip related and the mechanical issues are normal per the Chevy Dealer . The truck clunks and shifts hard (enough to move you in the seat) when going into gear first thing when starting up. This started when i first sent a complaint about 10 months ago and was told to take it into the Dealer to have it look at. It did not do this when i first purchased the truck. Also, at highway speeds the tach gauge jumps around like the transmission is slipping. Was told this is normal as well. I have owned a lot of Chevy's and this is the first to ever respond like this and drive like this and especially have paint issues like this. I have a white painted bumper with the blacked out grill that the paint is just chipping off. Now i have the black wheels chipping out as well (which i could see being rock chip related.) I drive the interstate over 50 miles a day to work and back and my truck doesn't see gravel hardly at all so how they can claim rock chips is unbelievable. I have photos of the chips on the bumper and grill and amazingly i only have 2 small chips on the hood of my truck which i could see calling it a rock or better term bug chip. I have never seen a bumper or grill chip like this truck. I am a very displeased Chevy owner since i was 16 and have never had a Chevy vehicle every have paint issues except a 1996 Lumina which reviews stated this vehicle over years the paint will come off in big sections which it did. I have been a loyal Chevy owner for myself but am really to go elsewhere due to these issues. Something you spend $65,000.00 on, should have something way more lasting than this. I have had it for 2 years and the front looks like it is a 6-8 year old vehicle. Very disappointed in Chevy for this and how they treat their customers that keep purchasing their products. I for one will probably not be a continued Chevy customer.

2018 Silverado w less than 12k miles. Transmission does not shift consistently or smoothly, the Brakes and suspension are noisy, no stopping power on steep hills. Noise in front end and leaf springs. Electrical wires unwrapped and visible inside drivers wheel, frame rusting, flaking. Appears this truck was assembled in between shifts from different CANADIANS! 46k dollars for garbage.

User's recommendation: Avoid Chevy trucks.

I'm with you on that but mine is the SUV the Chevy Traverse. It's sad that the Chevrolet name is no longer associated with quality!

The Silverado is highly over-priced. Trade it in for some other brand---non GM.

Disappointed with my Silverado

My truck needed motor work at 90,000 miles and is rusting away. Chevy didnt reply to me and didnt care that they lost a customer. Not a good value for $35,000.

User's recommendation: Don’t expect a lot.

Air conditioner

Hi. We have a 2014 Chevy Z71 4x4 Our air conditioner has quit 3 times!!!! I’m very upset about this! I’m a struggling mother of 2. My vehicle is about to be paid off, can not afford to trade in on something that air actually works in. We have fixed it twice! Over $2000 in the hole. Now guess what! You can’t even get a condenser for the darn thing! No one has them in stock! Maybe because you all need to recall the problem! But no of course not! We will continue you to go with out air! I would never recommend this vehicle to anyone! My children are my main concern! It is too hot to be out and about in a vehicle with out air! I would be so grateful if you all could get this problem fixed without me having to keep spending money on something that’s going to keep going out! Thanks, A struggling Mother!

User's recommendation: Do your research before buying.

If you truly believe it is "too hot" for children to be driven around in a car without air conditioning, then you either believe the kids are so very delicate they cannot withstand open windows while driving or you are part of the current generation who have no memory of when air conditioning in a car was considered an expensive---and unneeded---luxury. Many parts for autos now are in short supply.

That's the way it is. They will arrive eventually. Paying $2000 to fix a car air conditioner and then complaining that you don't have money to buy another vehicle seems like a bad decision.

Oh! how fragile we as a society have become.

Warranty work

Brought Chevy on for AC work under warranty and they only charged it up without trying g to find out why a <3 yr old vehicle with 23000 miles would be low on Freon. Now, not under warranty it is going to cost me 1150. When I tried and called Five times it hung up on me saying due to unforeseen event cant take my call. But it waited to tell me that after I had to give them name number and VIN and listen to the whole menu

Service and rudeness

Chevrolet - Service and rudeness
There is a memo on a part issued by gm. The truck has this issue. They were well aware of this issue instead billed my extended warranty twice for same part. Now expired warranty company sent me the recall gm wont honor it and Milford Chevy is so ridiculous they want two grand to replace again the sensor but will not honor this memo. The dealership is a total ripoff. Father and son Zee are both childish who work to rob the customers. No one employed is a decent person all speak rude act rude and try to hide there mistakes. Mel in service and lisa the receptionist as well as Will Zee are all uneducated obnoxious people. Please do not buy from them! And help me go public to embarrass this place aswell as GMC for their false story of keeping people safe. They dont.

User's recommendation: Do not go to Milford Chevrolet.

I am a proud and satisfied owner of two GM vehicles but receives no or very poor customer support in obtain the required company information on a company letter.

Request to GM for a formal letter and a Certificate of Compliance for the vehicles, listed below, stating that the vehicles meet US EPA and DOT standards (if relevant) or an official GM letter detailing the differences between the listed vehicles and the US version.Chevrolet Tahoe 2005 (VIN NO. *************6011) manufactured in the GM plant located in Janesville WI.Chevrolet Colorado 2005 (VIN NO. *************6297) manufactured in the GM plant located in Shreveport LA.

User's recommendation: Provide a GM letter stating full compliance or the differences between the EXPORT and US versions.

Case # 959********

Hello my name is Adriana, I own a 2013 Chevy Cruze with the vin # 1G1PC5SBXD719****. I have talked to a representative that gave me the case number 959********. I am wondering if my case is being looked into, as I have not received a call for the status of my vehicle. The problem I am having is that my car overheated and it wont turn on. It left me on the side of the road. Its having the same problems that Rotolo dealer in Fontana fixed two years ago. I called Chevy roadside assistance and the towing company they sent, transported my vehicle to the wrong dealer. Somewhere in San Bernardino, Ca. Now that dealer doesnt want to transfer my car to Rotolo, unless I pay for the diagnosis. I was not aware it was in the wrong dealer because I trusted the roadside assistance to take my vehicle to the address I provided them. The second problem is that the vehicle needs a new engine. The new engine shouldnt have stopped working after two years. This problem is also putting my family in danger, Im pregnant and have two toddlers that shouldnt be at risk in a faulty vehicle. I trusted that I bought a safe car and that has not been the case. My fiancé is loosing money by not being able to make it to work and that doesnt include all the money in repairs that I have already lost. I had previously bought a 2012 Chevy Cruze and the dealer had done a buyback because it had faulty breaks, which is more money lost including the down payment I gave and all the monthly payments. Now this car I have problems with it too and its already payed off without a single late payment. GM wants to charge me even more for their continued mistakes. I dont know whether to pursue the lemon law or what other route to take. It has been two weeks without an update or resolution. The dealer now wants to charge me storage fees for your delay. Its not fair that I put all this money and trust in a company that continues to fail me! Thank you, Adriana I
